Line Cook (FARMINGTON, CT)

Job Type: Full-time or part-time

Wage: Hourly, DOE

Truffles is looking for experienced professionals to join our busy kitchen team in Avon!  Prior catering experience is a plus, but not required.  We love friendly, motivated, inspired, creative, hard-working people in our kitchens!  AVAILABLE SHIFTS IN FARMINGTON:  MONDAY-SUNDAY 8AM-3PM. BOTH PART-TIME AND FULL-TIME POSITIONS AVAILABLE.

Responsibilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of menu items, preparing salads, hot/cold sandwiches and wraps.
  • Setting up kitchen line.
  • Preparation of pasta salads, chicken and tuna salads, etc.
  • Assist in preparation of catering orders, as needed.
  • Prep for next days’ soups, items for the line, following prep lists to ensure kitchen is ready for the next day.
  • Demonsrate culinary expertise and ability to make delicious food, taking pride in your work.
  • Adherence to sanitation and food safety handling procedures at ALL times, as required by FVHD.
  • Working together to keep our kitchen and storage areas clean and organized, minimizing waste.

Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years cooking experience.
  • Excellent knife skills.
  • Experience in working a breakfast/brunch line a plus.
  • Creative, eager to use imagination in creating high-quality food.
  • Ability to follow recipes where required.
  • Possess a vision for quality and a passion for food.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Work well in a small kitchen with fast-paced environment.
  • Catering experience a plus.
  • Preparation of items efficiently and consistently.
  • Must have excellent personal hygiene. Food safety certification a must.
  • Must maintain a well-kept, clean and organized kitchen, maintaining sanitation as required by health department.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Must be punctual.

Sales Staff (FARMINGTON, CT)

Job Type: Full-time or part-time

Wage: Hourly, DOE

Truffles Bakery is looking for CHEERFUL and OUTGOING counterhelp for various shifts, part-time and full-time, for all days, Monday through Sunday.

Hours are flexible, and applicants may apply for any number of shifts. These shifts are ideal for someone who wants to work anywhere from three to five days per week.

AVAILABLE SHIFTS IN FARMINGTON:  
Monday-Sunday 8AM-3PM; 10AM-3PM

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting customers timely and professionally.
  • Answering the phone, taking catering and cake orders (we will train you on our procedures).
  • Keeping store neat, orderly and clean.
  • Assisting in organizing daily catering orders, deliveries, etc., ringing them into the register, preparing customer receipts for those orders and deliveries.
  • Working to increase sales through suggestive selling, knowledge of product, etc.
  • Making coffee drinks (hot and cold), smoothies.

Skill Requirements:

  • Exemplary customer service.
  • Must have excellent personal hygiene.
  • Neat, clean appearance at all times.
  • Ability to learn menu/bakery items, etc., in order to answer customer questions.
  • Possess a vision for quality and a passion for food.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with others– team players only.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, able to work accurately with cash in register.
  • Must be punctual.

Responsibilities:

  • Bake-off of items in production for each day.
  • Preparation of cookies from scratch recipes.
  • Preparation of muffins, coffeecakes, cupcakes, etc. to set up for the next day’s production.
  • Stocking of bakery cases with bars and baked goods, ensuring freshness and visual appeal.
  • Assist in keeping the bakery clean and organized.

Skill Requirements:

  • Commercial baking experience or a culinary degree required.
    Possess a vision for quality and a passion for food.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with others.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must have excellent personal hygiene. Food safety certification a plus.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Detail-oriented, especially in following recipes exactly and attention to visual appeal of items in cases.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Must be punctual.
  • Must have a good sense of humor & a cheerful outlook.
  • Ability to set up and finish cakes/tortes a plus.
